Moycullen U18 Girls made it through to the U18 National Cup quarter finals after beating Oblate Dynamos earlier today. The U18 Boys went very close but lost out by 2 points to Templeogue.

In their round-robin group the young U18 Girls team beat Carraig Na Bhfear Rebels and lost to Meteors. Catherine Connaire top scored in the competition with 111 points in 4 games. She was ably assisted by Aine McDonagh who scored 61. A loss to Meteors today means they will play away to Glanmire Ladies in the quarter final. However, this won’t daunt them, having already faced some of the top clubs in women’s basketball in Ireland.

The boys had topped their round-robin group having beaten Limerick Lakers and St Brendans. While they will be disappointed by the narrow loss to Templeogue, everyone who saw them play report that they played brilliantly all weekend.

SSE Renewables will welcome back Sean Candon, Darragh Mulkerrins and Nollaig Cunningham to the squad as  they seek to overturn a big deficit next Saturday in Kingfisher.
