A fast start and early lead was not enough to earn Maigh Cuilinn back to back wins in the Basketball Ireland Men’s Superleague as a resilient DBS Eanna, playing at home, rallied well to win 74 to 63.

Maigh Cuilinn players were sprinkled across several girls schools teams who had great success recently with Salerno, Coláiste na Coiribe and Taylors Hill all lifting silverware.

Despite holding University of Galway Maree to by far their lowest scoring total of the season, Maigh Cuilnn were unable to get a win in the local derby as the nominal home team were 68 to 46 winners in front of a large Kingfisher Arena attendance.
