U9 / U10 / U11 Girls End of Season Blitz

The U9, U10 and U11 Girls wrapped up a fantastic season with a intra-club blitz on Sunday 26 March in Killannin Community Centre.

Two hours of basketball fun was followed by a presentation of certificates for participation and a party for players, parents and coaches.

The Blitz comprised ten teams made up of four players each, mixed from each of the age groups, and saw lots of great basketball played, baskets scored and some super movement and team play. Even better, there was signs of the friendships made and strengthened over the season just now gone with plenty of jokes and stories swapped on and off the court.

Parents of the players then put together a wondeful party spread for the 40 girls who played across the day once the action on the court finished up.

The season could never have happened without these teams’ coaches who so generously gave of their time all season – Lynda Woodman and Brenda Leyden (U9s team), Meave Mitchell, Riona Donoghue and Leann Kenny (u10s team) and Noelle Steele, Ronan Watters and Alison Breen (U11s team)

A special word of thanks to the older players within our club who came along on the day to help out with refeering, time keeping and general running of the day – Alison Breen from the girls U17 team, Alice Kyne and Caiomhe O’Neill from girls U14 team and Mark Leyden U12 boys team.

For all of our U9s, U10s and U11s – keep playing basketball over summer and we will see you all back on the court in a formal setting in September!
