Galway Leagues roar back into action the week of 15 November and first up were our Senior Women’s team who took to the court against old rivals and good friends Maree on Tuesday 16th.
While the result didn’t go Moycullen’s way, it was fantastic to see Galway Leagues up and running and the team can look forward to a great season ahead.
Moycullen’s first home game is Wednesday 24 November at 7pm in Westside Community Centre. If you can come in and support, please do! Note, that Covid Certs and mask wearing are required for all spectators.
A full schedule of games for our Senior Women can be found here.
Senior Women’s basketball has been played in Moycullen from at least 1968 when the local league finals were reported in the Connacht Tribune. Since then, we have had some fantastic Women’s teams who have benefited from a vibrant Galway League throughout the decades.
The latest crop will no doubt add to the tradition and can look forward to a strong league with teams from Tribes, St. Colmans, Titans, East Galway Celtics, Corrib and Claregalway joining Moycullen and Maree in the competition.
