The under 14 girls started the year with a fantastic 29-27 win against arch rivals Claregalway.  Claregalway had beaten us in the cup playoffs last year so it was time for revenge!  The team continued their winning streak against Bearna, Annaghdown, Titans and Corrib, and lost out to a very strong St Colman’s team in the last minutes of the match.  Annaghdown and Bearna in particular returned stronger in the second half of the season, and we suffered a few losses in tough matches.  The girls dug deep and played a fantastic game against St Colman’s again, missing out on a win but by the narrowest of margins – one basket!

Three of the team (Jenny McDonagh, Mai Roche and Sophia Carpenter) qualified for the West training sessions, and brought great depth and drive to the group. Overall the girls played a great season, finishing up 4^th in the league with 1 game left to play.
