Hula Hoops National Cup Draws

SuperLeague

The draw for the SuperLeague Cup was done during the season launch two weeks ago. We have received a bye in the 1st Round, so no game on 26th October. We then play away in the quarter finals on Saturday 30th November against the winners of Templeogue & UCD Marian.

U20 Men & New National League

In the U20 Men’s Cup we’ve drawn Drogheda Wolves at home in the first round which is due to be played next weekend. Should we win that we have another home game when we will face Gneeveguilla from Kerry in the second round. That game is scheduled for the weekend of the 9th & 10th November.

This is will be a busy under 20 season for Moycullen, with the team set to play in the newly formed Basketball Ireland Under 20 National League, as well as the under 20 National Cup and Senior Galway League.

The new National League competition begins with a group stage where we will face our local rivals Titans along with Sligo All Stars and UL Eagles. You can catch the u20s playing home games in the Jes Secondary School on 20th of October vs Sligo and 17th November vs Titans.

As soon as we have times for the games we will update.

U18 Boys

After the fantastic achievement and all the thrills of winning the National Cup last year, we have been given a ridiculous and totally baffling draw in this years U18 National Cup.

We travel to Cork to play in a preliminary  tournament on Saturday October 5th, where only 1 team from 6 will progress to determine who qualifies to enter the National Cup Qualifying weekend with 23 other teams.

In this preliminary tournament we are drawn in a pool with Titans & Dublin Lions, we need to finish 1st or 2nd in the group to qualify for the preliminary semi-finals. Win that semi & then the final and we eventually get into the National Cup Pool Phase, which takes place on the 2nd & 3rd November in Gormanston.

With the current format of the National Cup qualifying tournament having 4 groups with each group having 2 pools of 3 games surely there was a much more sensible solution; have 5 of those pools have 4 teams and the other 3 pools 3 each thus catering for all 29 teams in a much fairer manner.

Regardless the very best of luck to all our teams in their respective National Cup campaigns…
