U11 Girls Basketball blitz UL Feb 2^nd 2019

What a super experience our under 11 girls had last Saturday, playing in the fantastic University of Limerick Arena!! Arranged by the Limerick “Huskies” the blitz saw teams from Limerick, Killarney, Cork, Waterford, Carlow and two teams from Galway.

Our girls travelled down early on Saturday and we had our first game at 10.30 against Carlow, this was a super game for all our girls and they easily out played them, was a great start for us. Our second game was against our local rivals Corrib!!  We have played Corrib a number of times in Killanin, but to play them in UL was such a different experience, again we played super and came out on top.

Our last two games were definitely more challenging, Waterford gave us a great game and brought out some great play by the Moycullen defence, but unfortunately we were narrowly beaten.  Our final game against Killarney was definitely the toughest game and they are who we will aim to beat next time around. Thanks to all the under 11 girls and parents for a really super day out.
