2016 Irish Teams

All Internationals

Internationals

2016 has proven to be a remarkable year for the club on the International scene where we have 7 players competing for Ireland in the various European Championships which will run during the summer in July & August.

We also have another 4 who are training with their squads in the build-up to next year’s Championships.

Schedule for the teams competing in the European Championships this year:
U20 Men 15th July: Chalkida, Greece
U18 Girls 23rd July: Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
U18 Boys 30th July: Skopje, The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia
U16 Boys 11th August: Sofia, Bulgaria

Our players on squads who are preparing for next year’s Championships will also have a busy summer with games in England, Wales, Luxembourg & France planned so far

We will post some details over the coming weeks on each of our players, their respective teams and the European Championships that they are competing in.

For those players on squads preparing for next years Championships we will have updates on their progress over the summer.
During this years Europeans we hope to have regular updates and reports from the various teams and their progress.

Everyone from the club is incredibly proud of these players’ achievements and we wish them & their teams every success over the summer and hope they have a great campaign.

Finance & Fundraisers
One very important piece to note is that all these players & their families self-finance their involvement on their teams & squads for the entire duration of their time on that team. This includes paying for travel, training costs, accommodation and gear not to mention having to cover the cost of their participation in the European Championship tournament itself.
This obviously amounts to a considerable cost for each player over the lifetime of their time with the squad and it is normally only when they are picked on the final 12 that fundraising takes place.

The club will be supporting a number of these fundraisers being run by their families during the summer & we would ask you to please help and contribute in any way you can. We will post details of these events on the website where possible and circulate information as we get it
