Moycullen Basketball Club were presented with the Club of the Year award at a celebration night in the Galway Bay Hotel on Saturday night for the Medtronic Galway Sports Stars Awards.

Mary Gilson accepted the trophy on behalf of the club.

Given the competition, this was a truly momentous achievement for the club and indeed for basketball in Galway.

In his introduction, MC and Connacht Tribune Sports editor, John McIntyre cited the U14, 17 & U20 national cup wins, the senior men’s return to the Premier League, the large numbers of underage boys & girls and senior men on Ireland squads and the clubs ability to compete annually with the “bigger” Dublin & Cork clubs.
