Moycullen BC Presented with 3 Basketball Ireland National Awards

Moycullen’s highly-successful season at underage and senior level was acknowledged by the presentation of three Basketball Ireland National Awards, which were presented in Dublin on Saturday.

  • Paul Kelly won the AICC Under 14 Boys Player of the Year after outstanding performances in the team’s All Ireland Club Championship (AICC) title win.
  • Salva Camps won the Men’s Division One Coach of the Year, having led the club to a first ever National League title, and the Cup Final.
  • The club were awarded Men’s Underage Coach of the Year for a fantastic year at underage level, with achievements including: U20 National Cup Champions, U18 National Cup Semi-Finalists, U17 Billy Kelly Champions, Ranked 5th in U16  AICC,  U14 AICC & Cork County Board, and Emmett Neville Champions.

Commenting on the National Awards, Basketball Ireland Secretary General Bernard O’Byrne said:

“These awards reflect the high standards set by the basketball community in Ireland. Players, coaches and officials across every strata of the game are constantly striving to improve and the sport of basketball can only improve with them.”
