Moycullen Football club are hosting Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta over the June Bank Holiday weekend.

Tá Cumann Peile Mhaigh Cuilinn ag reáchtáil Chomórtas Peile na Gaeltachta le linn deireadh seachtaine Saoire Bainc an Mheithimh.

Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta is a major annual Gaelic football festival contested by clubs from the Irish language-speaking Gaeltacht areas of Ireland. This is an important community event and the club are looking to recruit some volunteer helpers.  As well as the football, the Irish language, culture, music, song and dance are all integral parts of the Comórtas weekend experience.

Is comórtas náisiúnta é Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta a reáchtáiltear idie na clubanna Gaeltachta ar fad sa tír. Is ócáid thábhachtach é seo don phobal, agus tá an club ag lorg daoine chun cabhrú le linn an deireadh seachtaine. Tá an Ghaeilge, cultúir, ceol, amhránaíocht agus damhsa ar fárnach in imeachtaí an deireadh seachtaine, chomh maith le cúrsaí peile, ar ndóigh.

Visitors to the festival are offered a unique opportunity to become totally immersed in authentic Gaelic traditions with Irish people who live these traditions every day. Locals will also get the opportunity to take part. If you speak Irish that’s a bonus but there’s no need as there will be roles for everyone.

Tá deis ag cuairteoirí a bheith báite i bhfíor-thraidisiúin Ghaelacha, le daoine a bhfuil sean-taithí acu ar na traidisiúin sin. Beidh deis ag muintir na háite páirt a ghlacadh freisin. Má tá Gaeilge agat is buntáiste é, ach níl sé riachtanach. Beidh rud éigin le déanamh ag gach duine.
