Moycullen U16 Girls play Scotland in Stirling

Moycullen U16 girls had a very successful trip to Scotland at the weekend where they were hosted by Basketball Scotland and played four games over the Friday to Sunday period. The girls finished with a 4 & 0 record as they beat the U15 squad 105- 35, the Scottish U16s twice with scores of 94-84 & 113-77 and the U18 squad 65-56. Playing 12 minute quarters, the girls showed the depth of the squad with everyone on the score sheet in almost every game. After their recent Cup final defeat to Maree, the weekend proved a great team building exercise and the invitation to play a national side was both a great honour and opportunity for Moycullen. The team showed what a great offensive unit they are with some brilliant basketball and tremendous scoring – hitting one hundred on two occasions.

Basketball Scotland was a most gracious host and looked after the Galway girls so well over the weekend in the fantastic Peak facility.
