SSE Renewables Moycullen have their last game before Christmas when the welcome DCU Saints to the new Jes Gym (Sea Rd) on Saturday (14th) at 6.30pm. As always DCU Saints will poise a very tough match-up, with full-court pressure and their physicality they are always a hard team to play against. Their big man Provizors has been in excellent form of late, having won the November player of the month and he’s ably assisted by guards James Donnelly and Eoin Quill and wing Eoin Darling. Their American Peter Lynch has settled in very well to Irish basketball averaging 18 points and 10 rebounds and with Mike Trimmer still providing them with quality minutes they are a team that is always dangerous and hard to beat. When these sides met in Galway last season the home side eventually emerged victorious after a nail-biting overtime epic. The home faithful would love to see a similar result this year. With the brilliant Mike Callaghan scoring well all season and with the NUIG Freshers squad members returning to the roster the young SSE Renewables Moycullen squad will look to claim their second victory of the campaign.
