Mark your calendars! Cumann Cispheile Mhaigh Cuilinn is thrilled to announce our biggest fundraising event of the year: Cispheil Céilí, a full day of basketball, fun, and community spirit, happening on Sunday, 9 February 2025 at the Killannin Sports Centre from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
This extraordinary event will bring together every team in our club, from our youngest budding stars to our senior men’s and women’s squads, in a day-long celebration of all things basketball. In a club that trains and competes across gyms throughout County Galway, this is our chance to unite under one roof and showcase the talent, energy, and camaraderie that define Maigh Cuilinn basketball.
What’s Happening?
Here’s a taste of what’s in store:
- Games for Every Team: Every team in the club will take to the court, giving supporters a chance to cheer on players of all ages and levels.
- Fun for the Little Ones: Special games and activities for our youngest age groups will ensure smiles all around.
- Bake Sale: Indulge in a variety of delicious treats baked with love by our club families. Don’t forget to grab some to take home!
- Gear Swap Shop: Bring your pre-loved basketball gear — including shoes, clothing, and equipment — and donate it for someone else to benefit from. Browse the collection and pick up items donated by others on the day.
- Raffle: Fantastic prizes are up for grabs in our big raffle. Tickets will be available throughout the day.
- Exhibition Game: Witness the incredible skill and legacy of Maigh Cuilinn basketball as our past and present Irish international players take to the court in a showcase game.

The funds raised during Cispheil Céilí will play a vital role in supporting our club. Proceeds will go towards purchasing gear for our teams, covering hall hire costs for underage blitzes, supporting travel for games around Galway and Ireland, coaches up-skilling, and buying much-needed equipment like hoops for Hala Mór in Maigh Cuilinn and scoreboards for teams’ use. Your contributions directly impact the development and success of Maigh Cuilinn basketball.
