Maigh Cuilinn let a halftime lead slip away as University of Galway Maree rallied late to come out on top in the Galway Derby.

The final score was 65 to 77 as University of Galway put in a fantastic spurt in the fourth quarter to turn a game that Maigh Cuilinn had led for large parts (leading by as many as 12 well into the second half).

In the end though, there could be little arguments as the superior individual scoring capabilities of University of Galway told and the ‘visitors’ were full value for their victory.

Next home game is Saturday 4 February at 7pm in the University of Galway Sports Arena when Ballincollig from Cork come to town.
