Local bragging rights are up for grabs all summer on the outdoor hardcourts as the Moycullen Juvenile Street League has seen some fantastic action on Friday nights at Coláiste na Coiribe. Well done to Paul O’Brien and Sean Hynes who are organising, ably assisted by our Superleague players who moonlight as referees with only the occasional imponderable officiating decision disrupting play! There is a great tradition of summer basketball on Moycullen courts and we hope that we’ll have an outdoor court or courts back in the parish sooner rather than later for our youngsters to enjoy without having to travel into Knocknacarra.

Blast from the past

It was 20 years ago when a wonderful six nights of basketball at the local hall finished with a buzzer beating score from Eoin Gilson to give Uggool the title of Moycullen Street League Champions for 2001, robbing the Kieran O’Connor and Gemma Hynes led Ballydotia outfit.
