An early morning start to get a tour of the1992 Olympic venue inspired the guys. The mention of Larry Bird pulled a big performance from John Hackett and he led the guys to a 47-28 win El Prat de Llobregat… They built an early lead and then withstood the renewed challenge from an athletic Prat team… 2nd game at 10pm…. Hope they’re still awake after their normal bed time 🙂

2nd game was much tougher against Circol Catolic Badalona. They were of a similar level athletically to Prat but were much quicker in transition and trapped aggressively on defence forcing a large number of turnovers. Moycullen dealt well with the traps initially with Eoghan Kelly doing a great job in creating scores for the Moycullen big men. Ladmy Sila and John Hackett.. However, as the game went on, the consistency and variation of the traps wore Moycullen down while, at the othere end, the ability of Circol’s bigs to play on the perimeter created mismatches…. Moycullen arguably played better than in the first game but still lost 78-54.

Tomorrow they face a St Joseph Badalona team who are expected to provide even tougher opposition. The fact that it is the only game for the day will help Maoycullen as will a good nights sleep.
