SSE Airtricity Moycullen top National League at mid-way point

SSE AIRTRICITY MOYCULLEN top the National League table at the half-way point in the season. Six wins and one defeat leave them ahead of local rivals Maree and Blue Demons of Cork (Both on 5/2 records). Moycullen will be hoping that strong home support in the second half of the season will help them keep the momentum in the league. See the full results HERE.

The lads travelled to Tolka on Sat Dec 13th to play their final match of 2014. Conditions were very cold outside and inside the hall.Starting 5 of Ronan, Paul, Dylan James & Patrick got off to a fast start, with scores being spread throughout the team. Players were introduced on a regular basis, giving Tolka little chance to settle. A big 3 from Chris McNairney on 1st qr buzzer left us leading 32-17. Our dominance continued to see us lead 53-22 at the half. while all players got court time, the style of play remained the same and our lead was 73-37 at end of 3rd. There was no let up and we ran out winners 91-49 to extend our lead at the top of Division 1. Top scorer on the night was Chris McNairney with 15, followed closely by Paul on 14 & Ronan on 12. Patrick dipped in with 11, but almost every player contributed.

As we take the Christmas Break, SSE Airtricity Moycullen overall record is 8/1, including winning two rounds of the National Presidents Cup, which sees our Senior team through to The National Cup Semi-final and up against JM&L Titans in Cork on Jan 12th. However, before that, we are away to JM&L Titans in the League on January 3rd in Knocknacarra at 7pm. Let’s make sure to have big support for SSE Airtricity Moycullen, for what should be another exciting local derby.
