Our Under 17 Boys head to Cork for Good Friday to play in the unofficial Under 17 All Ireland competition for the Billy Kelly Trophy. The field this year contains teams from Cork, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Longford and Sligo and includes the top six finishers from last year’s U16 All Ireland Club Championships. Our Under 17 Boys were dominant in winning the Galway League this year but will face some sterner tests in Cork where they meet Ballincollig, Sligo All Stars and Oblate Centurions in the group stages with the top 2 teams qualifying for quarter finals on Saturday. Best of luck to the lads on what is a kind of ‘right-of-passage’ in boys basketball.
