Congratulations to Maree who won the Men’s Division Title this season. They finished 13 & 1 with their only defeat being on the road to second placed Swords Thunder. Titans, who have a number of former Moycullen players, finished 4th in Division 1 and went on to win the National Shield. This is a clean sweep for Galway teams at Division 1. Check out a review of the league HERE. With our own young SSE Renewables Moycullen team finding their feet in the Premier League this shows a great strength in depth in men’s basketball in Galway. At National level in ladies basketball the NUIG Mystics team narrowly missed the playoffs in Women’s Division 1 with a team including a number of Moycullen players. Added to this there are competitive Galway Leagues for both men and women showing that adult basketball is alive and well in Galway.
