At 7.00pm this Saturday SSE Renewables Moycullen welcome Belfast Star to the Kingfisher for Round 13 of the

Eoghan Maxwell – putting in solid defensive performances all season

Premier League regular season. Star are back in the league after a year out and it’s great to see them back. They are led by their guard Paul Dick, who is averaging 17 points a game, American Frank Otis 15 & 9, Mike McKillop 8ppg & Spainard Dustin Moriera 13ppg. Like our team they have brought in a Spanish Coach; Joe Marie Berracol and he has so far done an excellent job with the team. The game in Belfast was nip & tuck all the way with Star eventually winning 82 – 69 in what was an excellent game of basketball. Mike Callaghan in particular was outstanding in this game totalling a massive 37 points along with 13 rebounds. Dylan Cunningham also had a great game scoring 22.

With Stephen and Paul O’Brien adding to the scoring last weekend, SSE Renewables Moycullen have found their scoring touch of late and this much better spread of scoring has helped bring that points scored up. However, they have forgotten how to play defence and this has to be a focus for the team as they do battle with the men from the North.

Tip-off is 7pm in the Kingfisher on Saturday 1st February.
